Solo Concert | Reykjavík
In the occasion of the release of Ásta Soffía’s solo album and having turned 30 years old she will have a concert.
She will play what is on her heart and what she is most passionated about on this stage of her career:
- Her classical solo work
- Icelandic tango music
- Traditional dance music in Iceland
- Traditional music from Norway and Iceland
- Tunes from the accordion entertainment era
Some of her dearest colleges will have a guest appearance during the concert and perform with her:
Daniel Falcón Græsdal on accordion, Elizabeth Katrín Mason dancer and Atli Freyr Hjaltason kvæðamaður and dancer.

Accordion Concert | Gullhaugkonsertane
Ásta Soffía and Daniel Falcón Græsdal played a concert with folk music and accordion music at the beautiful outdoor concert stage in Gullhaug. Solo Concert | Listasafn Sigurjóns Ólafssonar

Ásta Soffía played a solo concert in the Summer Concert Series of the Sigurjón Ólafsson Museum (ísl. Listasafn Sigurjóns Ólafssonar). The program consisted of a variety of old classics, like J. S. Bach and Nadia Boulanger, more contemporary pieces by Haukur Tómasson and Ásbjörg Jónsdóttir and a collection of Icelandic psalms, folk songs and tangoes arranged for the accordion by Ásta Soffía.

Solo Concert | Saurbær in Hvalfjörður
Ásta Soffía played a solo concert in the Summer Concert Series of Hallgrímskirkja at Saurbær in Hvalfjörður (ísl. Sumartónleikar Hallgrímskirkju í Saurbæ í Hvalfirði). The program consisted of music by J. S. Bach and Nadia Boulanger, a premiere of Tíminn og vatnið by Ásbjörg Jónsdóttir and Ásta Soffía’s arrangements of Icelandic folk melodies and hymns.

Solo Concert | Akureyrarkirkja
The Summer Concert Series of Akureyri (ísl. Sumartónleikar Akureyrarkirkju) church is one of the most established concert series in Iceland. This summer it was held for the 39th time and Ásta Soffía was part of the program by playing a solo concert. The program consisted of music by J. S. Bach and Nadia Boulanger, a premiere of Eftirlíf by Haukur Tómasson and Ásta Soffía’s arrangements of Icelandic folk melodies and hymns.

Accordion Concert | Siglufjörður
Ásta Soffía and Daniel Falcón Græsdal played a concert with folk music and accordion music. They focused on the cultural bonds between Iceland and Norway through the accordion. The concert was part of the Summer Concert Series held by Folk Music Center in Siglufjörður (ísl. Þjóðlagasetrið).

Celebration of Iceland’s national day | Oslo
Iceland’s national day is on 17th of June and on that occasion the Icelandic church in Norway had a service in Bøler church, Oslo. Ásta Soffía played Icelandic music during the service.

Harmonikan heiðruð in Hof | Akureyri
Ásta Soffía performed solo as a part of a program in honour of the accordion having been a rich part of Icelandic cultural live the last 150 years.
The accordionists Flemming Viðar Valmundsson and Jón Þorsteinn Reynisson also performed at this concert as well as the Accordion Club of Eyjafjörður conducted by Róar Kvam.

In the occasion of World Accordion Day the accordion club of Þingeyjarsýsla (ísl. Harmonikufélag Þingeyinga) threw an event in Félagsheimilinu Breiðumýri. Ásta Soffía played solo program as well as together with other members of the club.

Nordlek 2024 | Arendal
NORDLEK is a Nordic folk dance and folk music festival that is held every third year in rotation between the four largest countries in the Nordic region. This year it will be held in Arendal, Norway. Ásta Soffía will be the music representative for Iceland’s dance and folk music heritage at the festival.

Dægurflugur í hádeginu | Íslensk tangótónlist
DÆGURFLUGUR Í HÁDEGINU is a lunch concert series at Borgarbókasöfn (e. city libraries) of Reykjavík’s suburbs. The serie’s goal is to bring cultural events more to the suburbs to bring them closer to the people who live there and to enrich the activities offered at he neighbourhoods. The contra bassist Leifur Gunnarsson is one of the concert series’ producer.
Ása&Ásta together with Leifur Gunnarsson performed and recited their perception of the history of the Icelandic tango music from 1920 to 1970 at the concerts. Full house was both at the concert in Spöngin and Gerðuberg.

Dark Music Days | Lunacy: a Joyous Play
An opera by Guðmundur Steinn Gunnarsson who describes it as following:
“The spectators will be invited into a joyous psychotic play and can discover for themselves the magic and mysteries of
psychosis and lunacy and explore the wonders of the mind to its limits.”
Ásta Soffía was part of the opera’s chamber group consisting of 5 musicians. This opera was part of Dark Music Days‘ program.

Íslensk tangótónlist í Norðurljósasal Hörpu
Ása&Ásta performed and recited their perception of the history of the Icelandic tango music from 1920 to 1970. The concert was well attended, the main newspaper Morgunblaðið took a full page interview with Ásta Soffía and the radio channel Rás1’s episode Sumarmál also took an interview. The fund Tónlistarsjóðurinn Ýlir supported the concert.

Tónleikasumar á Gljúfrasteini, húsi skáldsins
Concert at Gljúfrasteinn, the home of Halldór Laxness, the Nobel Prize winner in Literature . It was part of their yearly summer concert series. Ása&Ásta played icelandic tangos for a packed living room of people.

Þjóðlagahátíðin á Siglufirði 2023
- Barónikka had a concert for 100 people at Bræðsluverksmiðjan Grána.
- Ásta Soffía held a workshop in Icelandic folk dances together with the folk dancers and dance teachers Atli Freyr Hjaltason and Elizabeth Katrín Mason.
- Ásta Soffía and Stúlli (Sturlaugur Kristjánsson) played for dance: íslenskur mars og gömludansarnir, dansstjórar voru Atli og Elizabeth.
