The 21 October 2023 marked the one year anniversary of the hydropower plant of Eyjardalsárvirkjun ehf., in Bárðardalur in the North of Iceland.
I am proud of my father, Þorgeir Björn Hlöðversson, who has with his ambition, knowledge, hard work and good colleagues built and financed the powerplant from scratch.
The powerplant is a valuable addition to the local economy and contributes to green energy production in Iceland.
Residents of Bárðardalur and people connected to the power plant first gathered at Eyjardalsvirkjun to have a look at the station and then at Félagsheimilið Kiðagil to enjoy food and beverages by Sigurlína and Magnús from Svartárkot. I was happy to have the opportunity to take part in the celebration and also play some songs.
